I purchased this right before doing a section of tha Appalachian Trail in January. We saw lots of ice during our trip. I was glad to have this thermal. It is the first I’ve owned, and I’m glad I purchased it instead of spending lots of money on similar products, like Underarmor. It’s lighter than the underarmor, but stills kept me very warm. I thought it would be uncomfortable due to the skintight nature of these products, but it was not bad at all. It seemed to stretch to fit in just the right ways. One thing I would caution. Due to wet and icy conditions on our trip we did lots of drying of our clothes over a campfire. The cotton clothes did fine around the fire, but the material these are made of does not like high heat. I did not realize it until I rotated the shirt over to dry the other side, but a large portion had shriveled up and basically melted. The shirt was unusable for the remainder of my trip. I will be replacing it however. I learned my lesson and didn’t get the matching pants near the fire. They did great for the rest of my trip.

i purchased 4 of these bad boys before heading to china

to a martial arts academy in the kunyshan mountains

its absolutly freezing here. they are comfortable to train in all day

and weren’t to bad about retaining oder

they sleeves are a bit two short as some other reviews are saying

but honestly that worked out just fine for me as a base layer

most training days i wear one of these a cotton thermal and a sweat shirt on to train in and end up getting heated enough to take off the sweat shirt

there might be warmer stuff on the market but as far as being comfortable when your very active i’d say these are just fine

For twenty years now I wear polypropilene as daily underwear year round except in the heat of summer. The reason is that I perspire quickly and cotton forms a cold pack on the skin, whereas polypropilene keeps the skin dry. However, I cannot blame people for not liking poly if they do not sweat: they have no way to appreciate how great it is when you need it.

This is a thin polypropylene base layer that wicks away sweat effectively. It does work as a thermal, but is not thick enough for extreme conditions.

Baselayer clothing is a winter sport staple, and this is one of the best value. The material is clinging and keeps you warm, but doesn’t restrict movement. Essential for the winter skiier, golfer, rugby player, sailor – pretty much anything outdoors in the cold months.
